Make believe
you cannot see
or smell
or hear
her giggle
Close your eyes
look inside
still your senses
dribble
Vibrating
electric waves
shifting
through the brain
most
expensive,
expansive organ
sniffs and
hears and complains
Open your eyes
Abran los ojos
What do you see?
Que ves?
Birds chirp
the city hums
Do you hear it?
Can you smell her?
The sun
the sun
the sun
The sun explodes
and floods us
with its escaping energy
Light bounces in
every direction
from every point
in view
The room is filled with spreading light
My eye lens focuses
the light to a tiny theater at the
back of my eyeball
The brain is plugged into all these organs- skin, eyes, ears,
tongue, nose
Hello world. Can you see me? I can see you.
The gift of life is on our doorstep.
The heart knows just what to do

A complex machine
Elegant

The body sniffs food,
it's molecules wafting through the air,
food molecules trigger electric signals
from the nose and mouth to the brain
How was this body made?
How does it work?
Does this thing come
with an owners manual?
How do I keep it healthy?

Long thin sausage
Curled into sleeping snake
